Play structures, ball diamonds and ice surfaces across Greater Napanee will slowly re-open over the coming weeks as part of Ontario’s Stage 3 of its Framework for Reopening.

Ice is scheduled to be put in on the Strathcona Paper Centre’s Home Hardware rink on Aug. 3, at which time it will be available for the public to rent.
The SPC’s large banquet hall will also reopen on Aug. 3, allowing for rentals for social gatherings of no more than 50 people. These gathering must adhere to the province’s health and safety guidelines for large group gatherings during Stage 3.
Further public notice regarding the reopening of the SPC is expected to be made available to the public by the town closer to the reopening.

In the upcoming days, the Town will be announcing the reopening of the Rotary Park Playground (located beside the Rotary Park Splash Pad). A release issued by the town says staff will be taking a gradual approach in opening the rest of its playgrounds and play structures. Play structures will be cleaned in accordance with public health guidelines; however, users are reminded to wash or sanitize hands before and after use, maintain physical distancing, and refrain from allowing hands near the face at all times.
All soccer fields within Greater Napanee are currently open for casual play.

Meanwhile town staff are preparing for the reopening of both the North Fredericksburgh Sports Complex and the Napanee Fairgrounds Sports Complex. The reopening of these two sports complexes will continue to allow for casual and recreational play on the diamonds. The washrooms at both locations will be open for public use.

The Selby, Roblin, South Fredericksburgh and Dorland ball diamonds remain open for casual and recreational play as well.
