The Town of Greater Napanee has enlisted the contract company Green Shield to spray weeds growing in the paved boulevards and near utility poles in the urban areas of town.

The process began July 15. To spray the weeds, Green Shield will be using a vinegar application that is environmentally sensitive.

The spraying will take place over the next two weeks. Once Green Shield has finished its spraying along the roadsides, the Town of Greater Napanee’s Public Works staff will begin to remove the targeted weeds. The timeline of this project will be completed in approximately three weeks in total.

Spraying and removal of the weeds will be completed during off-peak traffic hours to increase the efficiency of the work as well as ensuring the safety of crews working along the roadsides.
