The Napanee Raiders will be eager to put last weekend’s road trip in the rear-view mirror, as they dropped games in Port Hope and Amherstview, getting outscored 10-2 in the process.

On Sunday they were blanked 6-0 by the Jets, the first time they had been held off the scoresheet all season.

Marc-Olivier Robert earned the shutout, turning away all 23 Raider shots.

Carter McKee scored twice for the Jets while Caden Kekewich, Logan Calder, Brayden Robinson and Thomas Elkins each scored for the home team. Ethan Babin took the loss, allowing all six goals on 33 shots.

Saturday’s game in Port Hope was much more competitive, but ultimately yielded the same result as the Raiders fell 4-2.

Blake Aylesworth got Napanee on the board in the opening 2:37 of the game. Port Hope took over from there, scoring three unanswered.

Clayton Farrow got one back for Napanee at the midway point of the third, his first of the season, to cut the lead to 3-2.

The Panthers were able to ice the win with an empty-net goal in the final two minutes.

Logan Vale took the loss, stopping 30 pucks. Ethan Reynaud earned the win, also finishing with 30 saves.

With the two losses the Raiders dropped to 4-6-1 on the season and find themselves in unfamiliar territory, tumbling down to fifth in the East Tod Division with nine points, 10 back of both Frankford and Port Hope for first place. The Jets are third with 14 points while the Picton Pirates are fourth with 11.

Righting the ship won’t get any easier for Napanee as they welcome the Panthers to the SPC on Friday for a 7:30 p.m. start. On Saturday they travel to Campbellford to face the winless Rebels.
