Napanee U15 Stars capture PEC Milk Tournament

The U15 Napanee Stars won a solid six games in a row to capture gold in the Prince Edward County Milk Tournament. Sunday in Picton, they cruised 6-1 over South Muskoka, a perennial adversary. Brock Boutilier led with a pair of goals, singles by Callen Wilson, Jacob Lyons, and one credited to Carter Cork. Friday, they defeated Cornwall 4-1, as Colton Lockridge put it away with a hat trick. The County squad was a challenge, but Lockridge would provide the only goal needed to win 1-0. They spotted Whitby a goal before Wilson netted a pair, and Oliver Kimmett also tallied in the 3-1 win. Wes Davey got two in a 6-0 shutout of Stirling to win the qualifier. It appeared to end facing Parry Sound as they led by three thanks to Wilson’s two goals and one by Lockridge with eight minutes left, but they gave up three before Davey scored the buzzer-beater at 00.0 to reach the final.

The U18 D&D Electrocraft Napanee Stars made it to the finals of the Milk Tournament, before they fell 5-1 to Parry Sound. Owen Kish tallied for the Stars. Earlier, they tied Lindsay 1-1 in a tight contest. Aiden Difazio earned a shutout in net as they topped Newcastle 4-0, Jayden Holden providing offence with two goals. In the semi-final, they beat Oro 5-1. Scorers were Caleb South, Ethan Boutilier, Kohen Cutler, Luc Asselstine, and Holden.

The Cpk Interior Products U11B Napanee Stars, were also in the Milk Tourney. In the qualifier, they fell behind Midland 3-0 before Henry Boyles and Sullivan Elliott brought them close, but it was not enough. Cooper Castagnier took the 3-2 loss in goal. They beat Paris 5-3 on goals by, Ian Fairbairn, Hunter Armstrong, and Max Giruard, Ben de Kairelle, and Elliott. Friday at noon, they blew by Halton Hills 7-1. Goals were by Luke Dunn, Giruard, Hunter O’Hoski, and Boyles with four. Stirling proved to be a challenge as the locals lost 3-2, but Boyles did tally a pair.

In league action the U13 Goodyear Napanee Stars got shutout goaltending from Clayton Manion to win 4-0 on the road in Brighton. Keegan Wilde scored twice. Grayson Rowe added a single, and the goalie was also credited with a tally.

The U11D Napanee Stars were winless on the weekend playing in Lakefield, and home to Loyalist.
