Police respond to domestic dispute in Deseronto

On Jan. 20, 2021 at approximately 4:00 p.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a domestic dispute in Deseronto.

As a result of the investigation L&A County OPP have arrested and charged a 48-year-old male from Deseronto with:

  • Criminal harassment
  • Utter threat
  • Disobey court order
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drug
  • Operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit

The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee.

-On Jan. 20, 2021 at approximately 7:30 p.m. officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP observed a motorhome travelling westbound on Bridge Street that appeared to have improper plates attached.

Police initiated a traffic stop and as a result of the investigation L&A County OPP has charged a 64-year-old of Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory with:

  • Operate a motor vehicle while prohibited
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance c
  • Drive motor vehicle – no plates

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled for to appear in the  Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Feb. 2, 2021. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

-On Jan. 20 at approximately 4:30 p.m. officers of the Lennox & Addington OPP responded to the report of single vehicle collision on County Road 2 near Unger Island Road.

A westbound vehicle left the roadway, struck a snow bank and rolled over, coming to rest in a marsh. The driver transported to hospital with minor injuries and later released. The driver was subsequently arrested and, as a result of the investigation, L&A County OPP has charged 29-year-old of Deseronto with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drug

·      Operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on March 23, 2021. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
