Police lay charges of impaired driving following two separate collisions in Greater Napanee

On Jan. 2 at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 41 near Goodyear Road.

Police determined that the vehicle was travelling north on County Road 41 when it lost control and came to rest in the west ditch.  No one was injured however police determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment.   An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for processing.

As a result of the investigation L&A County OPP have charged a 30-year-old man of Greater Napanee with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on March 2. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

-On Jan. 3 at approximately 2 a.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP observed a three wheeled all-terrain vehicle stuck in the ditch off Dorland Drive in Greater Napanee.

Police determined that the vehicle was travelling on Dorland Drive when the operator lost control and entered the ditch. The operator was arrested at the scene and transported to detachment for processing.

As a result of the investigation L&A County OPP have charged a 39-year-old man of Greater Napanee with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on March 9, 2021. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
