On Oct. 2 at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a report off pigs falling out of a tractor trailer that had just entered the 401 Eastbound from County Road 4.  The animals were not seriously injured.

Five pigs fell out of the transport and were corralled by L&A County OPP, with the assistance of private citizens and a local animal rescue agency. A horse trailer was used to assist in the removal of the pigs.

The driver was charged with insecure load under the Highway Traffic Act.
