Four new COVID-19 cases in KFLA on Saturday, active count at 26

KFLA Public Health announced four new people tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the active case count up to 26.

All of the new cases are reported to have been in close contact with someone who had recently tested positive. The latest cases are two females under the age of 19, one male under the age of 19 and another male between the ages of 20-29. The health unit also announced two previously active cases had been resolved.

On Friday there were five new positive cases-one male age 40-49, one female age 40-49 and three females, age 20-29. The patients in their 40s were under investigation as to how they may have contracted the virus while the three females in their 20s were said to have been in close contact with someone who had previous tested positive.

Since the start of the pandemic there have been 147 positive cases, 121 of which have been resolved with no deaths. None of the current 26 cases are listed as requiring a stay in the hospital.

The region remains under ‘yellow’ community status.
