The Lennox & Addington OPP are currently investigating damage to nearly 20 headstones, including four large family monuments at Violet Cemetery on Violet Road in Loyalist Township.
Officers of the L&A County Detachment responded to the report on April 11 at approximately 8:30 a.m. It is believed that the mischief occurred over the weekend, but may have occurred over the last week.
Many of the headstones date back to the 1700s and 1800s and are damaged beyond repair.
