Nine NDSS Hawks qualify for OFSAA track and field, girls rugby to play for bronze

NDSS’ track and field team have nine athletes competing at OFSAA, taking place today and tomorrow in London, On.

Earning a spot at OFSAA required a top six finish at last week’s East Regionals. NDSS had 14 athletes compete, nine of which advancing to the provincial in London, which got underway yesterday and continue through tomorrow.

They include: Kaiah Weese – 1st Pole Vault, Jack Gregory – 2nd 3000m, 3rd 1500m, Emma Forbes-Messenger – 2nd 100m, 5th Shot Put, Lily Galloway – 2nd Discus, Lily Light – 3rd 100m, Sophie Donnan – 3rd Pole Vault, Sadie Lupton – 3rd 80m Hurdles, Meg Miller – 4th Pole Vault and Gabby Stacey – 5th 800m.

-Elsewhere in the Durham Region, the NDSS girls varsity rugby team will play for OFSAA bronze this morning at 11 a.m.

They will take on Centennial Secondary School.

-NDSS’ baseball team will take on Bayridge in the KASSAA quarter-finals this afternoon at Woodbine. First pitch is 1 p.m.
