News of a vaccine offers a light at the end of the tunnel

The world gave a sigh of relief knowing vaccines for this dreaded COVID-19 virus has been approved and found to be safe and effective.
The light at the end of the tunnel does not mean we are out of the tunnel yet but it does give us some hope that this crisis may be eventually be over. But to be fully effective, people actually have to take the vaccine. So it is with great regret that one of the main anti-vaccine proponents is our one and only MP Derek Sloan. Even the rest of his party, including PC Leader Erin O’Toole is distancing themselves from his rhetoric. How many more people will be infected  because of Mr. Sloan’s position? Is he our Canadian version of Donald Trump?
Luckily for us most of our leaders are committed to the position that these vaccines will help us out of the tunnel; not strand us in the middle of that tunnel with unproven and unscientific conspiracy theories. I will remind Mr. Sloan of the potential deaths he may have caused when he knocks on my door during the next election.
