NDSS’ Jack Gregory finishes third in OFSSAA cross-country finals

NDSS’ Jack Gregory earned OFSSAA cross-country bronze in Etobicoke, finishing the course in a time of 14:44.

Competing against the top high school runners in the province, Gregory was right there until the end, finishing just three second back of William Scharf for second place and nine seconds back of Brody Clark, who earned gold with a time of 14:35.

-NDSS’ junior boys volleyball team was swept in the KASSAA quarter-finals, losing 3-0 to the top ranked Kingston Secondary School Bears. The Bears advanced all the way to the league finals, which took place Nov. 8.

NDSS’ senior boys were also swept in three sets, bowing out against the third seeded Holy Cross Crusaders.

-On the basketball court, NDSS’ junior girls team came up short 37-23 against the Sydenham Golden Eagles in the KASSAA quarter-finals. Napanee’s senior girls lost 56-11 to Frontenac in their quarter-final showdown.

-Napanee’s senior football team was held to just a field goal in their consolation game against Bayridge to wrap up the 2023 season. The Blazers captured the seventh place title with a 22-3 victory at NDSS on Friday.

The junior team wrapped up a difficult season with a 28-6 loss to La Salle.

NDSS’ athletics will now turn their attention to KASSAA’s winter season, which will get underway later this month as schedules get finalized.
