U15B Stars capture first at Belleville tournament

The U15B Napanee Stars won gold at the Belleville Mid-Season Tilt with six wins in a row. In the final, they outscored Whitby 2-1 taking a lead in the first on the strength of Callen Wilson’s goal. Oliver Kimmett would get the winner midway in the third, and the boys played short-handed much of the last five minutes. The U15’s scored a 6-2 win over W. Niagara in the semis, on goals by Kimmett (two), Brock Boutilier, Ben Kerr, Brayden Hartwick, and Ryder Bruce.

Earlier, the U15’s got past Orangeville 2-1 scoring twice in the third to win. Wes Davey and Wilson tallied. They rolled over the Belleville Bulls 6-1. Scorers were Colton Lockridge (two), Kimmett, Boutilier, Declan McGarvey, and Quinn McConnell. Napanee had a see-saw battle facing Whitby as each saw early leads evaporate, but Ben Kerr and Callen Wilson would each get two goals to win 5-3. Davey, Boutilier, Wilson, Rory Williams and Kerr all tallied in their 5-2 tilt with W. Niagara.

The U18 D&D Electocraft Napanee Stars led wire-to-wire to win 5-1 in Brighton. Luc Asselstine (two), Jacob Cox, Tie Wood, and Caleb South did the damage for the locals over the Bolts.

Sunday, the U13 Goodyear Napanee Stars fell 5-1 on the road facing Douro. Grayson Rowe got the Star’s lone goal.

In Warsaw, the U11B Cpk Interior Products Stars matched Douro for two periods, but their hosts would score two unanswered goals to defeat the Stars 5-3. Hunter Armstrong tallied a pair, and Ian Fairbairn registered a single. Sunday, they rolled over Lakefield 11-2. Goal scorers were Armstrong (three), Ian Fairbairn (three), Ira Bellegarde (two), Ben de Kairelle, Conner Howes, and Henry Boyles.

In Picadilly, the U11D Stars struggled offensively losing to Frontenac and Otonabee.
