Make it six in a row for the Deseronto Bulldogs, who took down Barry’s Bay MV Wolves 7-4 on home ice Saturday night, improving to 6-1 on the season.

Deseronto never trailed in the high-scoring affair, jumping out to the 1-0 lead when Shamus Barr lit the lamp halfway through the first period. Joey Mayer doubled the lead a couple of minutes later.

The Bulldogs added three more in the second courtesy of Jonny Hill, Jordan Cannons and Graham Lamers. The Wolves attempted to chip away with two of their own, cutting the lead to 5-2 after 40 minutes.

Both teams would add two goals to their total, with Greg Arnburg and Cannons scoring for the home side.

Bailey Maracle finished the night with 42 saves, earning him third star honours.

The Bulldogs continue to lead the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League’s West Division, two points up on the Smiths Falls Rideaus (5-1).

Next up the Bulldogs will get their first look at the expansion Centre Hastings Ice Miners, as they travel to Marmora Arena for a Saturday afternoon tilt. Puck drop is 3:30 p.m. The Ice Miners are fifth in the West with a record of 2-3-0-1.

The Bulldogs’ next home game will be Nov. 18 when the Frontenac Phantoms come to the Deseronto Community Rec Centre. Game time will be 6:30 p.m.
