McAllister nets overtime winner to lift Bantam Crunch to tournament win in Cambridge

The Bantam B Napanee Crunch took home the championship at the Cambridge Roadrunners tournament this weekend.

They opened the tournament with a 2-1 loss to the Wilmot Wolverines. Natalie Mills scored from Gates McAllister and Grace Giroux.

Napanee rebounded with a 2-1 win over the Cambridge Roadrunners. Navy Hill earned the win in net. Mills and Karenna Ricketts provided the offence while Ricketts and Nicole Geenevasen earned assists.

They kept on rolling with a 3-0 win over the Kitchener Lady Rangers. Hill earned the shutout while Molly Dafoe, Mills and Hailey Bauder each netted a goal. Geenevasen (two), Ricketts (two) and Stella Sutton had helpers.

They reached the finals with a 2-1 win over the Wallaceburg Lakers Giroux and Ricketts each potted a goal with help from Mills and McAllister.

In the gold medal game the exacted revenge on the Wilmot Wolverines, winning the tournament with a 2-1 overtime thriller. McAllister had the game winner while Geenevasen scored in regulation to help push the game to overtime.

-The United Restaurant/Allegiance General Contracting Atom B Crunch were all over the Peterborough Ice Kats, winning 9-1.

Mickara Cochrane, Ruby Marlow, Brooklyn Prevost (two), Lexa Lazarakos (natural hat trick in the second period), Aven Trickey and Carley Uens providing the scoring. Kailee Jacklin, Trickey and Karleigh Wales picked up assists.

-The Peewee BB Crunch won 2-1 over the first place Clarington Flames on Sunday.

-Napanee’s Bantam BB Crunch have clinched first place in the LLFHL east division. They beat the Clarington Flames on Sunday, 1-0. Keyra Herrington earned the shutout and Lila Pringle scored on a nice breakaway deke in the third period.
