People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier will be in Napanee on Sept. 8 for a free rally.

Held at the Napanee Lion’s Hall, located at 57 County Rd 8, the event will run from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

He’ll be joined by Hastings Lennox and Addington People’s Party of Canada candidate Adam Gray, as well as candidates from neighbouring regions.

Bernier, a one time Conservative Party MP in the riding of Beauce, resigned from the party on Aug. 23, 2018 in order to found his own party. On Sept. 14, 2018, he announced the creation of the People’s Party of Canada with the vow to advocate for ‘smart populism.’ The PPC plans to run a full slate of candidates for the upcoming federal election, which will take place in October.
