Patrolling officers with the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a report of a driver travelling the wrong way on Hwy 401 on Friday night.
Many startled drivers called 911 during a very busy weekend commute to report the vehicle.
Officers managed to locate the 84-year-old driver who drove westbound on the eastbound lane of the highway for almost two exits before being stopped.
The driver from the Niagara Falls area was charged with stunt driving and the involved vehicle was impounded for seven days.
