Erinsville’s Maddi Wheeler will take part in the NCAA Women’s Div. I College Hockey Frozen Four this weekend in Minnesota.
Wheeler’s Wisconsin Badgers enter as the four seed in the tournament after defeating Colgate 4-2 in Saturday’s quarter-finals to earn their trip to the Frozen Four. For Wisconsin it’s their eight time in nine seasons reaching the finals of the tournament, having won it all in 2020-21.
Minnesota will face Wisconsin in the semifinals, scheduled for 7 p.m. eastern time on Friday. The games will stream live on ESPN+.
Wheeler, age 20, is playing in her third season with the Badgers. She has nine goals and 18 assists in 39 games played this year.
