Greater Napanee Pride to host Pride Summit Sept. 23 featuring keynote speakers

In response to increasing homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia in the United States and across Canada, Greater Napanee Pride has stepped up as a beacon of inclusivity and diversity in the rural landscape.

The organization has persistently proved that small-town pride can not only exist but also thrive, creating a thriving, welcoming, and inclusive community for the 2SLGBTQIA+ population. With a commitment to educate, inspire, and strengthen community ties, Greater Napanee Pride is thrilled to announce its first-ever Pride Summit.

Scheduled for Sept. 23rd at Napanee District Secondary School, the Pride Summit aims to equip Pride board members, GSA students, and advocates with essential knowledge, skills, and resources. The summit seeks to build stronger leaders in our communities and elevate grass-roots pride efforts by providing a platform to learn from experts and experienced advocates.

Building upon the successful execution of their annual Pride Festival and various other community events, the summit is designed to further strengthen the ties within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in rural Eastern Ontario.

The roster of expert speakers, including notable figures like Rev. Cheri DiNovo, Tim McCaskell, MP Eric Duncan, Dr. Lee Airton, Kelly Dear, and more, will lead workshops on a range of critical topics. These include the history of pride, government advocacy, team building and conflict resolution strategies and more.

Greater Napanee Pride invites everyone to join in this event, a testament to Greater Napanee Pride’s dedication to inclusivity, diversity, and community leadership. For more information, visit www.greaternapaneepride.com or reach out to info@greaternapaneepride.com.
