A house on County Road 9 in Napanee was completely destroyed by fire early Saturday morning.

No one was inside the home at the time of the blaze. Greater Napanee Emergency Services arrived on the scene around 4 a.m.

“As the first pumper arrived to start putting water on it, the building started to collapse on itself,” said GNES deputy fire chief John Koenig. “It had been burning for some time.”

No injuries were reported. Koenig says the cause of the fire isn’t suspicious, though with very little left of the structure it will be very difficult to determine the cause.
