Centreville’s Brandon Barker and Canada’s u15 222 fastball team went undefeated in New Zealand, posting a perfect 22-0 record over a two week span.

Barker, who played for the u14 Napanee Express last summer, contributed from both the plate and pitcher’s circle. At the dish he hit .500, finishing in the top 16 for hitters in the tournament. He also added seven innings of relief pitching, allowing not hits, five walks while not allowing an earned run.

Canada was led into action by Dean Holoien and Ryan Ray. They had a long flight but settled down on Day 1 to an afternoon practice and some team building. The days after that were always full right from early morning with always a team practice at 9 a.m., usually followed with a double-header against different teams starting at 1p.m.

They played teams from Auckland, North Harbour, Hawes Bay, Western Bay of Plenty, Counties Manukau, Hutt Valley, Canterbury and Waikato to name a few.
