Domestic dispute leads to criminal charges for Greater Napanee man

On Nov. 29 at approximately 7:30 p.m., officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a report of a domestic dispute on County Road 5 in Loyalist Township.

While on route, officers located a vehicle travelling in an erratic manner and initiated a traffic stop westbound on County Road 1.   The investigation determined that the driver was also the subject of the domestic complaint. Officers arrested the individual on suspicion of impaired driving and transported him to the detachment for testing.

As a result of the investigation L&A County OPP have charged a 54 year old male from Greater Napanee with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit
  • Spousal assault – two counts

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Jan. 12, 2021. The accused person’s licence was suspended and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
