A last minute, extra attacker goal helped the Amherstview Jets steal a point in Game 4 of their exhibition series with the visiting Napanee Raiders on Sunday.

Game 4, the second of the modified split squad hockey games played on the night, ended in a 3-3 draw. In the first game, the Jets picked up a 5-3 win to take a 2-1-1 lead in the series.

Connor Brooks put the Raiders up 1-0 in the first game of the night with assists from Cam Krupa and Logan White.

The two teams traded goals from there as Krupa tucked one under the crossbar for Napanee, sandwiched between two goals from Amherstview’s Matt Halle, the first goal assisted by Aidan Harris.

The game remain tied until the final five minutes when Amherstview’s Hunter Chapman notched the go ahead goal. The Jets tacked on an empty netter to ice the victory. Mitch Bown took the loss for Napanee.

Just as they did the previous week, the two teams then vacated the ice for a flood and returned with a slightly different roster for the second mini game.

Elliott Belzile got the Jets going early in Game 4, scoring just three minutes in. He added another late in the first quarter to put the home team up 2-0.

Napanee came out strong in the second half as Krupa notched a pair and Soren Zamuner to take a 3-2 lead late.

The Jets refused to go quietly however, rallying with the game-tying goal in the final minute to close to game out in a 3-3 tie. Bailey Maracle made the start in net for Napanee.

The series will now shift to Napanee for the first time, this Friday at the SPC. Due to COVID-19 safety regulations, the games will be played without fans and the amount of players and coaches allowed on the bench at a given time will be limited.
