Recently, several large bags of dry dog food were emptied, in the bushes, at the base of large trees, on the very edge of the Cataraqui Trail property, in Newburgh.
This was no accident. Each deposit is spread over approximately a 12 square foot area, and we have been told that there are also deposits elsewhere on the Trail.
Given the cost involved, this is curious enough, but it is not the first year that this has happened. It seems like an annual occurrence. Could it be a desire to feed or encourage wild animals? Something to do with hunting season? Or could it be that the food is poisoned, perhaps targeting coyotes? It’s a mystery to us and the animal welfare folks. Anyone have an answer?
