Cal Uens had a helping hand in both of the Kingston Frontenac’s victories this weekend, earning an assist on back-to-back game winning goals.
On Friday the Napanee native defenceman helped set up Paul Ludwinski’s go ahead goal at the 14:20 mark of the third, a tally that would stand as the difference in Kingston’s 3-2 home win over the Oshawa Generals. For his efforts Uens was awarded the Fronts’ hardest working player of the game award.
The assist was Uens’ eighth of the season and first since being acquired from Owen Sound at the OHL trade deadline.
The next night in Niagara Uens was at it again, assisting Thomas Budnick 2:44 into the second period, give the Fronts a 3-0 advantage at the time en route to an eventual 6-2 victory.
Uens will look to extend his point streak to three straight this afternoon when the Fronts hit the road to face the Guelph Storm. That game is just about to face-off with a 2 p.m. puck drop.
