Bag tag plan means residents won’t bother recycling

I am a senior and spent the winter months with my daughter in B.C.  therefore I don’t need or want these tags.

When at home, I put out one bag every two or three weeks.

At the present time I have 14 bags that I have paid for which would last me until January and at time I will be in B.C.

Are we going to be reimbursed at least every six months for any unused tags that are not needed?

Also, everyone senior I know, myself included, if I receive another 25 tags, I will put the recycle bins away and my compose bin away and put it all in garbage bags. This means if all senior do this, you can dispose of at least two or maybe three trucks and drivers as you will only need one truck per run and not two doing the same street for pick up of garbage and then another to pick up garbage.

Also, I know of four companies in town that employs seniors part-time and they are given the rights to put one bag of garbage in their bins. What are they going to do with 25 tags?

Also who is paying for the mailing?

If you really want save money, put our taxes up  $100 in place of the $200.

Don’t mail out tags therefore you have a saving on mailing.

Also do not print tags, also a saving.

Let every one know you will only pick up two bags with no tags and more than two bags will be left at the curb and have the owners will have to take them to the dump themselves and that they will be charged $5 a bags.

May cut down on garbage and many individuals will reuse the recycle bins.

If we are not going to be compensated for unused bags tags, then I would suggest to everyone put your recycle bins away. Why waste time washing cans and bottles to help the environment if our council do not care about us?

If and when I find a place to sign a petition I will do so.

Wake up councillors. We voted you in and we can vote you out.
