Visitors care more about river trail than residents

I took my out of town visitor on a walk along the Napanee river trail, he enjoyed the view and said this is wonderful, except, for all the garbage laying all over.

Upon returning to my place, he asked for a garbage bag and plastic gloves to go and clean up. After two weeks of volunteers doing an excellent job cleaning up, the trail looks much better.

If an out of town person wants the trail and park to look pristine, why can’t everyone that uses the trail and park put their garbage in the garbage cans or take it home to dispose of it?
