Vehicle collision leads to impaired charges in Napanee

Members of the Lennox and Addington OPP have charged a driver with impaired driving.

On April 10 at approximately 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision in a parking lot by Centre Street north and Alkenbrack Street in Greater Napanee. Officers located the vehicle and determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment and an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for processing.

As a result a 59-year-old, of Greater Napanee was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drug
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 2, 2023. His licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
