The Napanee U9MD Stars captured gold at the Tier II Eastern Ontario Minor Hockey League Championships, held in Ennismore this weekend.
Luke Dunn scored the game winner with just 30 seconds remaining to lift the Stars to a 4-3 win over Loyalist in the gold medal game.
The Stars opened the tournament with a 3-1 win over Douro, followed by a 4-0 win in their second game against Campbellford. After a 4-1 loss to Ennismore, they rebounded with the thrilling 4-3 victory to clinch the Tier II gold.
Jayden Stehlik, Max Girouard, Dunn, Madden Brown and Colton Celestini each scored a pair of goals at the tournament while Charlie Dwyer and Paul Thompson found the back of the net once each.
