The U15 Napanee Stars remain at the top of the Eastern Ontario Minor Hockey League standings after they breezed by Tweed 15-0, and Douro 7-1.

Home to Tweed, with a balanced attack, 12 players made the score sheet- Callen Wilson scoring the winner off an Evan Gaffney rebound five minutes into the game. Jackson Godfrey got the shutout between the pipes, with light duty based on a 64-4 shot barrage by the locals. Point getters were Wilson (three), Gaffney (three), Colton Lockridge (three), Devin Robinson (four), Ben Kerr (three), Brock Alaver (two), Brock Boutilier (three), Wes Davey (four), Wyatt Albright (four), Kohen Cutler (five), Brayden Hartwick (one), and Liam Birney (one).

On Sunday, hosting Douro they maintained their perfect record. Kerr would feed a pass from the side of the net to Alaver who stretched the twine. On a similar play seconds later, Cutler would get the winner. Other scorers were Albright, Boutilier, Robinson (two), and Wilson. Goalie Carter Cork gained the win for the Stars. The shot totals were Napanee 49, Douro 16.

In a repeat of a 2-2 tie in Tweed on Dec. 9, Napanee’s U18 Stars needed to come from behind to earn a point at the SPC. Tweed were up by two going into the third period, but Dylan Kemp would cut to his right at the top of the crease to trim the lead in half. Spencer Cranley and Ty Kemp got helpers on the play. Then, with only two minutes remaining in the game, Zered Haller fed Owen Kish from behind the net. Kish put it in the open side to knot the score at two. This puts the U18’s narrowly in first, a point ahead of their next road trip opponents, Douro, who play in Tweed on Friday.

The U13 Stars earned a 5-2 win in Stirling on Sunday. The home team scored first, but Keegan York cued the comeback half way through the second, and Ryder Bruce tallied as well. Hudson Conger got the winner before Liam Mulder added a pair in the third to round out the scoring. Goalie Jonathan Hough helped the team to move up into third place in their league.

The Northfleet U11’s lost 7-1 in Brighton on Saturday. Ira Bellegarde broke up the shutout late in the third frame. On Sunday at home, they were defeated by Stirling.
