The Cpk Interior Products U11B’s earned four wins in a row to reach the finals in the seven team Gananoque Tournament.  Facing Gananoque in the final, they led by two early on, but were edged 3-2 to be silver medalists.  Ford Fairbairn and Luke Dunn were the marksmen for Napanee.  To defeat Frontenac 2-0 in the semis, goalie Cooper Castignier provided shutout hockey, while Ira Bellegrade and Dunn created the offence. Earlier, they got by Kemptville 1-0 on a late goal by Hunter Armstrong.  Saturday morning, they edged the Char Lan Rebels 3-2 thanks to goals by Bellegarde, Dunn, and Henry Boyles. Saturday afternoon, the third place Napanee squad faced sixth place South Stormont doubling up on them 4-2. Charlie Dwyer, Max Girouard, Connor Howse and Boyles all made the scoreboard. Lloyd Piontek tended goal for the Stars in that one.

-The U15 Napanee Stars travelled to Ennismore Friday with first place on the line, but fell 2-1.  Their hosts scored in the second, while Colton Lockridge combined with Keagan York to even things up in the third. Four seconds into a power-play late in the third was the Stars’ undoing as they now have one loss in league play.  On Saturday in the County, they made a strong showing to win 6-2.  Callen Wilson had a career game scoring the first five tallies, before Lockridge added one.

-The U13 Goodyear Napanee Stars had a see-saw battle facing Centre Hastings in Madoc on Saturday losing 4-3.  Maddux Hartwick kept it even at one apiece in the first, while Grayson Rowe and Chase Castagnier matched their hosts with goals in the second before the Grizzlies put it away in the third.  As part of the double round robin playoffs with other Tier 2 teams, Centre Hastings is scheduled to make a return visit to the SPC on Wednesday.

-The 11D Napanee Stars’ woes continue as they took it on the chin 14-2 in Brighton on Sunday afternoon. Paul Thompson had a pair of goals for the Stars, as they begin their playoffs with a double round robin facing Tier 3 teams. Brogan Carroll was very busy tending goal for the Stars.
