Two people charged for selling stolen property online in Napanee

Officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP charged two people for selling stolen property online.

On Jan. 15, shortly after 8 a.m., L&A OPP received a call that someone was selling stolen tools online. Police were able to arrest two individuals as they were attempting to sell the items on Richard Street in Napanee. The stolen items were from a Dec. 19, 2023 break and enter file where $2,0000 worth of construction tools were stolen from a construction site on Dundas Street East in Napanee.

As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged Douglas Wood, age 35, of Belleville with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on a later date.

As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged Rebecca Norman-Hill, age 20, of Greater Napanee with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Fail to comply with probation order – two counts

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on a later date.

Lennox & Addington County OPP Detachment Provincial Constable Dave Yome emphasizes the importance of safeguarding your belongings.

While the Lennox & Addington County OPP experienced a slight increase in minor thefts in 2023, let’s turn the tide in 2024 by heightening awareness and implementing proactive measures. Together, by securing our valuables and supporting one another, we can reverse this trend and send a message that our community stands united against theft.”
