Two drivers charged with impaired

Officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP charged two drivers with impaired driving over the weekend.

On March 8, shortly after 3 p.m., officers from the L&A County OPP received a report of a person who was believed to be impaired attempting to drive away from a construction site on Oakmont Drive in Bath. Police attended the scene and arrested the driver for impaired driving.

As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged a 24-year-old of Kingston, with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 2, 2024. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

-On March 10, 2024, shortly after 5 a.m., officers from the L&A County OPP were dispatched to a collision after receiving a crash notification for Fitchett Road by County Road 9. Police attended the scene and located two people standing on the roadway with minor injuries. The vehicle was in the ditch and had hit some trees. Police arrested the driver for impaired driving.

As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged an 18-year-old of Greater Napanee, with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on April 2, 2024. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
