A 50 year old truck driver from London, Ont. has been charged with careless driving following yesterday morning’s collision on the 401 near Palace Road.
The traffic management officer at the Napanee detachment completed a preliminary investigation into the collision and it was determined that the transport driver hit a construction sign, drove into the crash barrier and up onto the cement guardrail causing the vehicle to catch fire.
No one was injured as a result of the collision. That section of the 401 remained closed for much of yesterday as crews worked to repair the road surface.
