Traffic complaint leads officers to stolen vehicle

Members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person after he was found behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle.

On May 9 at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint with information of a vehicle being driven erratically on Hwy 33 in Greater Napanee.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen.

As a result, L&A County OPP arrested and charged a 33-year-old, of Vaughan, with:

·        Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

·        Three counts of fail to comply with probation order

·        Two counts of Driving while under suspension –

·        Fail to properly wear seat belt

The accused is held in custody pending a bail hearing
