Ten Thousand Villages pop up sale coming to Napanee Nov. 18-19

A Ten Thousand Villages pop up holiday sale will be taking place at 73 Mill Street W in Napanee on Nov. 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All proceeds from the sale, which is being hosted in the home of Rose Wisher, will go to Ten Thousand Villages, which is a non-profit fair trade organization that sells handcrafted items made from disadvantaged artists from all over the world. The proceeds go directly to the artists.

They also ensure safe working conditions for the artists, embraces sustainable practices while keeping alive traditional skills from around the world.

Few brick and mortar versions of the store remain, which a location in Cobourg serving as the last store in eastern Canada. They have since moved most of their operations online, tenthousandvillages.com. The Napanee pop up sale will give shoppers a rare opportunity to see their products in person.
