NDCC’s Annual Men’s Open held on Saturday, with 16 teams participating, was a huge success thanks to convenor Allan Wrigglesworth.

Capturing the trophy and the second draw winner with 39.5 points was the team of Ray Balachorek from Tam Heather who thanked NDCC’s ice tech and helpers for terrific ice to curl on.

The first draw winner went to the Napanee’s Chris Ramshaw rink with 35.5 points, runner up Ian Munro with 34 points and the second draw runner up went to the Doug Pennell rink with 34.5 points.

Wrigglesworth thanked Triple Bogey Brewing Company for their sponsorship, all participants and volunteers for a great day of curling, fun and camaraderie.  All were wined and dined with morning goodies by Debbie Currier and helpers and a delicious prime rib lunch by Moira Sickling and crew while bar staff kept everyone’s thirst quenched.

NDCC’s Ladies Open, convened by Heather Ramshaw, is set to go Saturday and everyone is welcome to come out to catch some great curling.

She also has the club’s 60th ‘wine and cheese’ celebration ready to go for Dec. 3 immediately following the semi-annual general meeting at 1 p.m.

Curlers are reminded if they are out and about curling in an area bonspiel drop Sandy Eastlake a line so she can pass the results on to the community.

Most weeks are already booked for use of the rink, but anyone interested in renting out the club for a company event can set it up with Bill Ryan at 613-354-4438.
