Suspect suffers minor injuries after rolling vehicle while attempting to flee police

On Oct. 24 at approximately 9 p.m. officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a report of an erratic driver on Centre Street in Greater Napanee.

Police located the vehicle in a parking lot and initiated a traffic stop. The driver provided requested documentation, however fled the scene while police were investigating.

Officers activated their emergency lights and attempted to stop the vehicle on River Road in Napanee. The vehicle was observed to be travelling in a dangerous manner before it collided with a guide rail and rolled several times. The driver was taken to hospital for minor injuries.

On Oct. 25 L&A County OPP arrested the accused.

A 49-year-old man of Greater Napanee is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Fail to stop for police
  • Breach of recognizance
