A 62-year-old Stone Mills Township woman will appear in court for a bail hearing later this afternoon after Napanee OPP found multiple animals living in squalid conditions inside a Moscow home.

The officers responded to a call on Saturday where the home allegedly contained over 50 living cats as well as several dead ones. A dog was always locked inside a crate.

The 62-year-old of Stone Mills Township has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with cruelty to animals as per section 445.1(1)(a) and with cause damage or injury to animals as per section 446(1)(b).

The investigation is continuing and the OPP is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact police at 1-888-310-1122. Should they wish to remain anonymous, they may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where they may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
