Stone Mills Sabres cap off undefeated season with “A” championship

The Stone Mills Atom Sabres went undefeated this year in the Inter-Community Hockey League.

The Stone Mills Atom Sabres have had an outstanding 2018 season. Playing in the Inter-Community Hockey League with 17 teams this year, they finished their regular season in first place with 21 wins and one tie.

The Sabres finished their playoffs undefeated in eight games, leading the way to an “A” championship after winning their final game.

Stone Mills also entered the Peterborough Liftlock tournament, winning five games, including a come from behind semifinal game that went into a five-minute overtime and three-man shootout.

That placed them in the final game where they finished runners up in the consolation game. The kids just finished the local Kids for Kids tournament, winning six straight games to go undefeated and win gold.

This is the third year a Stone Mills atom team has won their Kids for Kids Division.  Team members are:  Kaiden McLaughlin, Jake Horner, Ryan Howlett, Dayton Birdsell, Tanner Woodcock, Mya Slack, Dom Monk, Mackenzie Pichie, Brody Hatch, Cash Harrington, Johnathan Huyck, Owen Rankin, Mason Pichie, James Howlett, Ethan Kouri, Rippley Webster, coach Kevin McLaughlin, assistant coach Brett Horner, trainer Shawn Monk, assistant trainer Sanford Hatch, manager Christine Woodcock and practice coach Andy Slack.
