Lovebirds will have a sweet way to show their affection while supporting Morningstar Mission during the Spread The Love and Kindness Cookie Sale.

Baked by Merola Tahamtan, the heart-shaped cookies are available starting Tuesday and running through Feb. 15 at Napanee’s Home Hardware for a cost of $3 for one, $5 for two. All proceeds raised from the cookie sale will go towards Morningstar Mission, which assists those in need with food and shelter.

Cookies will also be available at Family News Stand in Kingston, with proceeds from the sale at that location going to Parry and Penny’s Community Fridge. Keeping with the Valentine’s Day theme, the cookies have red and pink icing.

“We made it Spread the Love and Kindness Cookie Sale to go hand in hand (with Valentine’s Day),” said Tahamtan. “It’s a little thing that we can do to help with the community and then Home Hardware has graciously offered to sell them there and also we’ll be working with two local artists who have donated a painting, Lisa Ray (Koenig) from Groovy Cats, she donated a piece of art work and then as well Monica Lapajne of Mo’s Art, she’s a radio personality from Kingston. She donated a piece as well so we will be running an auction online.”

The Groovy Cat’s painting will be posted to the Facebook Page Fundraising for Morningstar Mission, where bids can be made in increments of $10. The auction will run until Feb. 15.
