The U18 D&D Electrocraft Napanee Stars, playing with a short bench because of injuries and suspensions, matched Norwood 3-3 on Goodyear home ice on Saturday. Owen Kish tallied on the doorstep in the first. Jayden Holden made it 2-1 on a fine individual effort as he moved left in the slot. Penalty trouble in the third led to Norwood’s second tally, but Carter Slaven’s blast off the goalpost, careened off the opponent goalie’s skate as he slid back to restore the Stars’ lead. Norwood removed their goalie for an extra attacker, and with 40 seconds remaining, a point shot through a maze of players eluded goalie Aiden Difazio for the tie. Shots favoured the Stars 26-22.
