ROY, Matthew Edward Mark
With great sorrow, we announce that Matthew Edward Mark Roy died tragically on October 18, 2023, in his 35th year. He was the proud father of Isaac Paul and Grace Ann and the loving son of Christine Leonard and the late Mark Roy. Matt will be deeply missed by his sisters Shannon Buote (Ryan) and Mariah Leonard-Roy (Mike), his brother Thomas Leonard-Roy (Elisa), his niece Zoey, and mother of their children Sabrina. He was the beloved grandson of the late Edward and Myral Leonard and Paul Roy of Bath, and was blessed with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Matthew grew up in the village of Bath and graduated from ESS. Since he was a small boy he loved to build things, so it was no surprise that he became a carpenter. He belonged to the Carpenters Union Local 249 and took pride in working on many buildings in the Kingston area. He loved basketball and catching live bait with his dad. His greatest joy was his two beautiful children.
We miss you, Matt, and will love you forever.
A Memorial Service will take place on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at St John’s Anglican Church, in Bath at 2 pm. Interment following in St John’s Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow from 3-5 In St John’s Hall. Aquamation has taken place, arrangements in the care of Wartman Funeral Home – Napanee.
