Rural Frontenac Lennox and Addington (RFLA) Allied Health Team will combine art with nature for their next event, held April 22 at Amherstview’s Parrot’s Bay Conservation Area.

The event will start with a hike through Parrot Bay’s wooded-conservation area trail that will lead to an outdoor guided paint lesson with local artists. Naturally, the subject of the artwork will be the beautiful landscapes of Parrot’s Bay.

A youth and family hike will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., which includes a 1 km hike as well as the paint session.

An adult hike is scheduled for later in the afternoon, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the option of a simple 1 km walk or the longer option of a 5 km walk combined with the paint session. All painting materials are provided for participants and there is no cost to register. Youth under the age of 14 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Transportation can be provided for the youth portion on a first-come basis with pick-up and drop-off at the Napanee Area Community Health Centre, located at 26 Dundas Street W. Registration is open until April 14, with limited spaces. Participants must register regardless if they are taking the bus.

To register contact Katherine Taylor at katherinet@kchc.ca or by phone at 613-449-5678.

The event is being held in conjunction with the Napanee Area Community Health Centre and the Lennox and Addington Youth Hub.
