Selby’s Reid Lambert has committed to a third year with his hometown Napanee Raiders.

The Junior C hockey club announced late last week that they have reached an agreement with the 19-year-old left-winger. He’s coming off a career high in points for the Raiders, scoring five goals while adding 14 assists, while racking up 69 penalty minutes. In his rookie season he had 11 goals and five assists. Lambert added two goals in six playoff games.

“He plays a rugged, hard-working game and possesses a strong shot,” reads a release from the Napanee Raiders. “This season, we’ll look for him to lead with his experience.”

Napanee also announced it had swung a deal with a fellow Raider franchise, these ones the Junior A Nepean Raiders. The trade sees 19-year-old Kingston native Jackson Barnes head to Napanee for a player development fee.

In 49 games with Nepean last year he had three goals with six assists. He’s also suited up for the Blind River Beavers and Trenton Golden Hawks.

He’s set to attend Queen’s University this fall.

In league news, the Provincial Junior Hockey League announced plans to launch a live streaming platform next month known as PJHLTV.
