After the pandemic delayed their Quinte Skyhawks Minor Football League (QSMFL) debut by two years, the Napanee Junior Hawks are ready to give it another go.
Registration is now open to students currently in Grade 6, 7 or 8 to take part in the seven team co-ed spring tackle football league, which will play the majority of games on the turf field of M.A. Sills Park in Belleville, with some home games planned to be held at NDSS. The cost is $250 and covers the cost of equipment rental and insurance.
In-person registrations will take place March 24 from 4-8 p.m., March 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and March 27 from 1-4 p.m. To book an appointment to register and to get fitted for a helmet or ask any questions, call 613-453-3536 or 613-217-0721.
The team was set to join the league in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to the pandemic. The league intends to serve as an introduction to the sport and serve as a feeder program for the NDSS Golden Hawks high school team.
