Reader believes Sloan was aware of Fromm’s donation

I was deeply saddened when I read both your article and opinion regarding the legitimate expulsion of Derek Sloan from the Progressive Conservative party.

The party leader has implied that Sloan’s acceptance of a $131 donation from Paul Fromm was “the last straw”.

Wikipedia states Fromm is a Canadian white supremacistneo-Nazi, and perennial political candidate. Fromm is the international director of the white supremacist organization Council of Conservative Citizens.

I have read that the number 131 is a code number amongst extreme right wing and neo- Nazi sympathizers.

For Sloan to claim he was unaware of both the donor and his beliefs is incredulous to me.

If this was the last straw, we must assume the stack of Sloan’s past racist, homophobic, anti-vaccine, anti-lockdown, gender bending, pro-life gibberish was acceptable to O’Toole.

Your heading of the opinion piece “Sloan didn’t fit O’Toole’s new image” suggests the new image of the party as is represented by O’Toole’s hypocritical appeal to LGBTQ voters (BIPOC next) when he says there is room for them in his Conservative Party. Read: 416 and 905 voters wanted.

In your opinion the method of his expulsion was unfair. Your closing paragraph implies the constituents of HLA have somehow been cheated. I read that you would be content if we are represented by a hate monger.

I hope the majority of the people in HL&A agree with me.
