Continuing their red-hot February, the Napanee Raiders outscored their opponents 13-1 in a pair of weekend victories.

Friday night at home at the SPC they shutout the Frankford Huskies 7-0 before picking up a 6-1 win on the road in Campbellford on Saturday.

Cameron Krupa and Benn Chubbs each scored twice for Napanee while Ben Carter and Logan White each had singles.

The Raiders built a 5-0 lead late into the second period before Connor MacGregor broke the shutout, scoring the only goal the Raiders would allow last week.

Bailey Maracle earned the win with 27 saves while former Raider Mitchell Bown took the loss, allowing six goals on 33 shots.

Napanee was 1-for-4 on the power-play while the Rebels were held scoreless in their two chances.

Friday night Preston Swan-Merrison recorded the shutout, facing just 14 Husky shots on the night-one in the first, 10 in the second and three in the third. His counterpart Hayden Candler meanwhile saw plenty of action, facing 50 pucks on the night.

Matthew Sheehy scored twice while Johnny Wright, Ben White, Chubbs, Reid Lambert and Krupa each scored once.

The game was still up for grabs after the opening 20 minutes as the Raiders held just a 1-0 advantage at the first break. They poured in on with four more in the second and two more late in the third.

Napanee scored on its lone power-play while the Huskies also had one man-advantage but couldn’t convert.

The two wins allowed the Raiders to jump into a tie with the Amherstview Jets, who also picked up two wins this weekend- a 4-0 win over Campbellford Friday and a 4-2 win over Port Hope on Sunday. Their Thursday contest against Picton was postponed due to weather. Both teams now have 42 points on the season, though the Raiders have played 26 games while the Jets have 25 in the books, leaving the Raiders with four left to play and the Jets with five. With their two wins the clubs are guaranteed to finish in the top two in the division which grants them a first round bye.

Napanee will look to wrap up an undefeated February this week when they visit Picton on Thursday night and then welcome the Port Hope Panthers to the SPC on Friday. Both games feature a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.
