A light one-game showing on the weekly schedule did nothing to slow the Napanee Raiders’ goal per week average as they routed the Campbellford Rebels 14-0 on the road Saturday night.

Napanee put the game away quickly, leading 3-0 just 8:45 into the game. They added three more in the second half of the frame to take a comfortable 6-0 lead into the first intermission.

The offense kept rolling in the second, posting five more goals before tacking on three more in the third, just for good measure.

Christos Chronis led the way with four goals on the night while Marshall McFarland had two. The offense was spread around from there as Noah Jacobsen, Ryan Kidd, Connor Brooks, Ben Chubbs, Colby Cross, Ben White, Cameron Krupa and Noah Westwater each had singles. Chubbs added four assists for a five-point night.

Napanee’s 14-goal outburst marked the 10th time in 11 games they’ve scored at least six goals and second time they’ve eclipsed double digits. On the year they’ve scored 84 goals total in their 11 games, contrasted against 33 allowed.

Bailey Maracle stopped 21 Rebel shots to earn the shutout, his first of the season and seventh of his Junior C career. He’s now 8-0 with a 2.44 GAA.

The win extends Napanee’s win streak to 11 straight to open the season while the Rebels fell to 0-5.

Napanee’s 22 points have them well out in front in the East Tod Division, 10 points up on the second place Amherstview Jets who are 6-4. The Picton Pirates are third at 5-2 (10 points) while the Port Hope Panthers and Frankford Huskies both have four points.

Napanee will have yet another light week though this time they’ll be at home, hosting the Picton Pirates on Friday night at the SPC. Puck drop is 7:30 p.m.

Following that game they won’t play again until Nov. 3, when they’re on the road to face those same Pirates. On Nov. 4 they’re home to Panthers at the SPC. Both those games are 7:30 p.m. starts.
