Police track down erratic driver on Hwy 401 near Odessa

On July 3 at approximately 9:30 a.m. officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a report of an erratic driver. The vehicle was westbound on Highway 401 just past Odessa exit.

Police stopped the vehicle near the service centre. As a result of the investigation L&A County OPP have charged a 21-year-old man of Cornwall with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit.

The accused was further charged contrary to the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Driving a motor vehicle no licence
  • Driving a motor vehicle no plates
  • Diver failing to wear seatbelt

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Sept. 1. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

-On July 5 at approximately 8:00 p.m. officers of the Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a report of an erratic driver on 401 eastbound that had just exited the highway at the Greater Napanee exit.

A short time later police located the vehicle at a motel on County road 41, Greater Napanee and initiated an investigation.  As a result of the investigation L&A County OPP have arrested and charged a 55-year-old man of Niagara Falls contrary  with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs; and
  • Operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit.

The accused was further charged contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act with possession of a schedule I substance.

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on Sept. 8. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
